Hymson Novolas reports sustained demand for process-integrated laser plastic welding systems.
Friedrichshafen, October 2026 – Hymson Novolas has concluded its participation in Fakuma 2026 (October 12–16, Friedrichshafen), the 30th international trade fair for plastics processing. Discussions with customers, prospects and partners at the booth showed that requirements for laser plastic welding now extend beyond the welding unit itself to the entire process chain.
Customer inquiries from Fakuma this year centred on process reliability, quality documentation, automation, traceability and integration into existing production environments. Manufacturers are increasingly specifying complete manufacturing concepts that deliver stable, economical and scalable processes, rather than evaluating the welding technology on its own.

Process Stability and Quality Assurance in Laser Plastic Welding
Across automotive, medical technology and consumer electronics applications, the priorities were consistent: high process stability, verifiable quality, and flexible integration into existing production lines. Hymson Novolas sees a sustained competitive advantage in the combination of welding technology, process know-how, quality assurance and automation.
WS-AT, Basic M and Optical Systems: Laser Welding Solutions at Fakuma 2026
At Fakuma 2026, Hymson Novolas presented a range of solutions for industrial laser plastic welding, covering both stand-alone manufacturing and fully integrated automated production environments.
- WS-AT: a flexible laser welding platform that can be operated as a manual workstation or integrated into higher-level manufacturing systems. This enables manufacturers to start laser welding with a highly flexible solution, while retaining the option to boost productivity through future automation and process integration.
- Basic Series (S, M and L): a family of compact integration modules designed to perform process-relevant laser welding functions within automated production systems. Depending on the configuration, they provide a clearly defined interface between the welding process and factory automation, simplifying integration and ensuring process responsibility remains within the laser welding system.
- Welding Concepts and Process Solutions: a comprehensive portfolio of application-specific welding technologies designed to address a wide range of component geometries and production requirements:
- Quasi-simultaneous welding, realized through high-dynamic scanner technology and representing the preferred solution for a large share of laser plastic welding applications due to its flexibility and process capability.
- Mask welding, implemented through the LineBeam concept, where product-specific masks define the weld geometry. The technology is particularly suited for microfluidic and other high-precision applications.
- Globo welding, developed for large and/or 2.5D components as well as profiles, technical textiles and films.
- Radial welding solutions, designed for rotationally symmetric parts and complex tubing assemblies, supported by a broad range of standardized process concepts.
Visitor interest focused less on machine specifications and more on reliably integrating welding technology into automated manufacturing. This confirmed growing demand for application-driven solutions combining process expertise, welding technology and automation into a single production concept.
